To do anything on Vertex, you'll need to deposit collateral into your account. Collateral can be managed on the Dashboard page.
The Dashboard is your friend. It presents an entire account overview and shows open positions.

π‘οΈ Collateral
Vertex is a decentralized, cross-margin trading platform that allows users to take on leveraged long and short positions. Traders are required to deposit collateral and maintain a maintenance margin or risk getting liquidated.
-> Depositing Collateral
Click the (β¬ Deposit) button on the right-hand side of the dashboard
Enter the amount of UST you'd like to deposit as collateral
Press 'Deposit Collateral' and sign the transaction in Terra Station
βDo not deposit all your UST as collateral.
You need a small amount of leftover/free UST in your wallet to pay for testnet gas fees, or else the transactions will fail.
-> Withdrawing Free Collateral
Click the (β¬ withdraw) button on the right-hand side of the dashboard
Enter the amount of UST collateral you'd like to withdraw
Press 'Withdraw Collateral' and sign the transaction in Terra Station
π§ Risk: depositing and withdrawing collateral impacts your account's margin. If you withdraw a significant amount of collateral while having open positions you're more at risk of getting liquidated.
π Navigating the Dashboard
The dashboard has everything you need to know about your margin account. Below you'll find what it all means.
